Over the 3 days you will explore a range of SAORI weaving techniques, immerse yourself in colour and texture at the loom, learn the beautiful art of Sakiori cloth weaving, gain valuable tips and tricks for freestyle SAORI clothing design and be given space and solitude to delve into your weaving practice throughout the weekend.  Whether you are a complete beginner to SAORI weaving or a seasoned SAORI creative, this Retreat is for you!

The program cost includes 3 night’s accommodation at the exquisite Shizuka Japanese Ryokan & Wellness Retreat, all delicious chef-prepared Japanese meals and drinks, guided weaving tuition, prepared looms & equipment and all yarns and materials throughout this extended weekend Retreat.  This unique accommodation is exclusively available for our small group over this extended weekend.

Cost:  All costs include accommodation in traditional Japanese-style rooms, delicious chef-prepared Japanese cuisine, alcoholic drinks, other snacks and beverages throughout the weekend, guided workshops and weaving tuition and all materials throughout the weekend.  SAORI looms are provided for the weekend, threaded up and ready to weave!   This Retreat is suitable for both complete beginners and seasoned SAORI weavers.

  • Early Bird Twin Share   $1100  (when  you book and pay 50% deposit before 31st January)
  • Standard Twin Share     $1300
  • Early Bird Single             $1500  (when you book and pay 50% deposit before 31st January)
  • Standard Single               $1700

Flexible payment options are available:

To secure your room and the $200 Early Bird discount, you will need to pay the 50% deposit ($550 for twin share or $750 for single) by 31st Jan, with the remaining balance due by 17th February.

OR If you would like a longer time to pay, you can pay a 40% discount of the full fee ($520 for twin share or $680 for single) by 31st Jan and then you have until 31st March to pay the rest off.

OR You can just pay it all outright and get it over with!
